I really do love your photos. This is going to sound really strange but these images remind me of Spain.
In some of the old parts of Spain along the South coast (im not sure if they're still there now as it's all been bombarded by housing developments), there were these kind of shacks, but a bit nicer then shacks. They were on flat ground and usualy had an orning or two with a door facing the main road(they were usually lined across main roads for business i think). Underneath and bit further back and attached to the ornings, were little shops. The shops were kind of like newsagents, pound shops and cafes all in one. Soemtimes there would be a small bar, or perhaps tapas place right next to it sometimes not. Maybe a couple of stray dogs wandering around. Little old spanish womensat by the door. But sometimes right next to the shop, there would be a small desert like yard with clay pots and garden features, or statuesque monument type figures. Usually in that white plaster appearence. Bit random I know. Though the shops were nothing like that building - it's qite unexpected next to the market pictures.
Thats a beautiful description, I can see what you mean. The pictures on this post are actually from the Catholic Cathedral; they are statues, and bits for restoration. The yellow building is behind the Cathedral and I think forms part of the housing for the lay community.
Means and ways of looking at this blog - no category is absolute; each and everything is not classified by every category; only when appropriate. I hope it is more of a starting point; each post gives links to another, whether to complete it, or for any other purpose. It is a little like an image based brainstorm, although without a clear overview. Alternatively it can be seen chronologically by post, although this may appear sporadic, which at times it is.
