This is what I have been thinking, for the most commonplace event to become an adventure, you must - and this is all that is necessary - start recounting it. This is what fools people: a man is always a teller of tales, he lives surrounded by his stories and the stories of others, he sees everything that happens to him through them; and he tries to live his life as if he were recounting it.

Tea Bags

By no means meant to be taken in conjunction with Sebald's words - this is just a strange discovery, which baffled and amused me.

In promotion of their new form of tea bags PG Tips created a set of cards based on their own adapted study/history or pyramids, as seen through the eyes of Wizard T Bagg, and the Kevin the chimp.

This then I thought, as I looked about me, is the representation of history. It requires a falsification of perspective. We, the survivors, see everything from above, see everything at once, and still we do not know how it was.
